Without peer, Sally is the most prolific character in our archives. At first we thought it improbable, if not impossible, that the myriad mentions of the woman “Sally” were all referring to the same person. However, every piece of evidence we have found thus far in our research reinforces that yes, it is in fact one woman, the same woman, that countless songs and ballads bemoan. While never a recording artist in her own right, she has appeared in songs as a backup singer, or other supporting roles such as blowing the tuba. Born of humble beginnings, in her prime Sally had a suspicious amount of wealth, no doubt padded by her connections with the Mayor.

Her reach is so great that her impact on music history is indelible. She is the unconventional muse of countless smitten songwriters, acting as the catalyst for hundreds, if not thousands of love (and breakup) songs, spanning decades. When interviewed under the clause of anonymity, a former scorned lover is quoted as saying “Sally has more notches on her bedpost than Nashville has gold records.” Sally is considered to be a pioneer of the rock-n-roll groupie phenomenon, years ahead of her time.

Her final story remains as open-ended as she was, since we have been unable to confirm her whereabouts, although at this point she has presumably died of old age. Based on our research, we don’t believe old age slowed her down, and there is evidence to suggest that she would have been chugging along all throughout her final days.

Fun Facts:
- At several points in time, Sally was a member of The Rowdy Rudies. However, her primary job was to help them unload through the back door, and some other behind-the-scenes positions.
- As kind as they were funny, Uncle Rudy and Judy Patootie became Sally’s adoptive parents at some point in her formative years. Her parents were still alive, so she called them “aunt” and “uncle”, hence Uncle Rudy.
- Sally used to run a country store called Long Tall Sally’s Good Time Five-and-Dime, before she was recruited by one of Nashville’s sexual talent scouts.
- She is sometimes erroneously pegged as being Miss Molly, but we assure you that Molly will never be a Sally!
- Sally has a deep love for all animals, but dogs and horses are her favorite. Conversely, she could never truly love any man, not even a handsome Rounder.
- She hated her names “Sarah” and “Omey”. she went to great lengths to obfuscate her true legal first & last names, believing that someone using her name could “break the spell”.
